While Europe has been banning pesticides that have been linked to bee colony collapse, the United States it seems is not really interested in crop pollination. They prefer to side with the big chemical companies. Given that the head of the EPA (Remember what the name stands for? Environmental Protection Agency) is an ex oil lobby guy, it is no wonder they are working against protection. The EPA announced on 07/12/19 that the will allow the use of sulfoxaflor, a pesticide known for high toxicity to bees, in alfalfa, corn, cacao, grains, such as millet and oats, pineapple, sorghum, teff, teosinte, tree plantations, citrus, cotton, cucurbits such as squash, cucumbers, watermelons, some gourds, soybeans, and strawberries. (Is there anything they didn’t allow?)
